Don’t Miss American Heroes Week at Schlitterbahn Waterpark

Family on Waterslide at Schlitterbahn Waterpark

You may remember back in late May to early July, Schlitterbahn Waterpark celebrated American Heroes Week at all of their locations, including the one here in New Braunfels. During this event, EMTs, Firefighters, Police, and Military received free entry. This previous American Heroes Week lasted from Memorial Day to July 4th and even included a discount of 50 percent for spouses and dependents. Well, if you missed the previous American Heroes Week, don’t fret. This popular waterpark is offering a similar event at a few select locations in August, giving them another chance to show their appreciation for our heroes’ service.

Where and When

This next American Heroes Week is running from August 14th to 27th and features the same impressive deals to show the waterpark’s appreciation for everything you do. To get your free admission, just show your proof of employment or military ID. Spouses and dependents also get that amazing 50 percent off deal. The only downside is that this second American Heroes Week won’t be in effect at the New Braunfels park. Of course, if you can’t make it to one of the participating parks during the free week, you can always head to the New Braunfels one any day and get a military discount for a nice reduction in entry price.

Making the Most of Your Day at the Waterpark

While at Schlitterbahn Waterpark, you will have plenty to keep you entertained. You can relax in one of the multiple heated pools while sipping a beverage, zoom down the Bahnzai Pipeline, or truly zip along a Der Bahn Speed Slide. The whole family will love the Double Loop Body Slides. When you just need to relax and take it easy, float down the Kristal River or the Torrent River.

Bring your small children along and play with them in one of the designated kids’ areas. The Tadpool Kiddie Pool has a fun frog slide, an elephant that spouts water, and a seashell slide. Or take them to the Polywog Pond Kiddie Park, perfect for even younger kids with its zero-entry section and giant toadstools. You can also enjoy the Lagoon Kids’ Area. My kids prefer Schatze’s Central Park where they can meet the mascot, play in a magical castle, go down slides sized just for them, or visit the car wash.

Bring Your Appetite

Don’t forget to bring your appetite with you to Schlitterbahn. If you want to save money and choose exactly what you eat, picnics are welcome without glass or alcohol. Otherwise, you can get burgers, chicken strips, chili cheese dogs, BBQ, ice cream, and funnel cake.
