Don’t Miss Christkindlemarkt!

Christmas shopping can put a strain on anyone’s holiday cheer, but it doesn’t have to be stressful. You can find gifts for all your loved ones and have a great time in the process when you visit the New Braunfels Christkindlemarkt this December!

When and Where

The German-style Christmas market will be held at the Bavarian Halle at the Schlitterbahn Resort. It will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 6. It will also run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 7. Admission and parking for this event are free. The resort is located at 212 W. Austin Street, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. Of course, dirndls and lederhosen are welcome.

Something for Everyone

This year, more than 80 vendors will bring their wares to the festive market, filling the Bavarian Halle with a colorful collection of ornaments, apparel, décor, toys, glassware, beauty products, and more. If you’re looking for jewelry for someone special, you’ll find just what you need among the rings, crosses, bracelets, and necklaces of Petya’s World. You can brighten up any kitchen with handcrafted pottery by Mexico Artisan Wonders, and even your four-legged friend will be happy with one of Buck and Lola’s custom pet accessories. Everyone can keep warm this winter with a fleecy gift by Great American Alpacas, and there will be a plethora of special Christmas ornaments by Wiederhold Woodworks, Tate Designs & Woodworking, Rockhead Refinery, and others.

Food and Drink

The festival atmosphere wouldn’t be complete without food, and you’ll have a wide variety of delicious dishes from all kinds of vendors. This year’s purveyors include Cajun Cookery, 7 Monks Cafe, Texas PO’ Boys, and more. If the night is cold, you can warm up with DJ’s Chili Parlor or Mi Casa Tamales. New Braunfels Elks Lodge will serve up kebabs, and Kain Na will offer authentic Filipino cuisine.

The night is right for German fare, so Uwe’s Bakery & Deli will provide bratwurst, schnitzel, currywurst, gulaschsuppe, stollen, German Christmas cookies, and fries. Beer and gluehwein will be available courtesy of Schlitterbahn. When it’s time for dessert, you can satisfy your sweet tooth with The Wily Baker, Silke’s Cookies, Crave, or Madison Chocolatiers West.
