Fitness Tips For 2019

Fitness Tips for 2019

Does this sound familiar? The New Year rolls around, and you make a resolution to get in shape. You hit it hard for a day or two, but then you just stop. It’s not long before you forget about your resolution altogether. It’s time to put that in the past. Follow some fitness tips, and you’ll finally reach your goals this year.

Set a SMART Goal

Have you ever heard of SMART goals? Smart goals are:

  • Specific
  • Realistic
  • Achievable
  • Relevant
  • Timely

Your fitness goals need to be SMART.

Let’s say your goal is to get healthy. That’s not a SMART goal since it is so vague. Instead, you should set the goal of losing a specific number of inches from your waistline in a set number of months. That’s a SMART goal.

Create an Action Plan

Let’s say you set a SMART goal of losing 20 pounds in six months. That means you have to lose two pounds a month. What will you need to do to achieve that goal? Think about the calorie deficit you need to reach that goal. Add in some exercise as well to help you stay on track. Write down the plan you intend to follow.

Putting Your Plan in Action

Now the real fun begins. It’s time to put that plan in action. Track your plan as you put it into action and get excited when you reach mini-milestones. For instance, if your goal is to lose 20 pounds in six months, you’ll hit a mini-milestone when you lose two pounds the first month.

Make Adjustments

If you don’t reach your milestones, it’s time to evaluate your plan. Something is preventing you from progressing as you should. Are you cheating on your diet? Are you skipping the gym? Maybe you’re doing everything you should, but you still aren’t reaching your milestones. Then it’s time to look at your calorie deficit and exercise routine. Make some changes and try it again.

Achieve Your Goal and Repeat

Once you reach your goal, it would be easy to slip back into your old lifestyle, but that’s not going to happen this year. Instead, make a new goal and track it the same way. Follow the same steps until you achieve it.

Keep doing this with each fitness goal you want to achieve. It won’t be long before you’re in the best shape of your life.

When you get in shape, you’ll deserve a reward. Not just any reward will do, either. You need something big, so head to Nissan of New Braunfels in New Braunfels, Texas, and pick up a new vehicle. That’s the perfect way to celebrate after staying on track.
