Kick Off Maifest at Krause’s Café

maifest

Maifest, which translates to “May fest,” is a German tradition celebrating the beginning of spring. This year, Krause’s Café is kicking off the celebrations with three nights of music from Alex Meixner Band.

Where, When, and Tickets

The celebration takes place at Krause’s Café, which is at 148 S. Castell Avenue here in New Braunfels, on Thursday, May 24, Friday the 26, and Saturday the 27. Each night, the doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. You can already buy your tickets, but keep in mind that you cannot get a single wristband; instead, you have to buy tickets in the form of a table, which seats eight. Each table is $270 and you can get your eight entry wristbands and reserve your table by visiting Krause’s Café where you can choose which table you want based on the map.

Enjoy Krause’s Café Anytime

The Maifest celebrations will be in the Biergarten at Krause’s Café, but there is also a café section of the local business. You can head there during regular hours for a drink of your choice and a fun atmosphere. Krause’s Café began in 1959 when Kermit Krause purchased “Gene’s Place,” which previously belonged to his father. At first, the café just served a noon meal, but it quickly became famous for beer, card games, and dominos.

Now, the café is open on Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., with hours extended to 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sundays, it opens from 8:30 a.m. to 100 p.m. The café serves all three meals of the day with a mix of American and German dishes and plenty of drinks. The café also regularly hosts a range of events with live music and/or special meals.

Take your family and friends along to Krause’s Café to celebrate Maifest with some music in your vehicle from Nissan of New Braunfels. You may find yourself wanting to attend a future performance from the Alex Meixner Band in New Braunfels, Texas, as well after hearing the music.
